A master clock in stained wood, richly adorned with gilt-bronze iconography of cherubs. The curved and elegantly cut case is decorated with garlands of flowers, medallions of cherubs, and a finely chiseled figure of a seated cupid at the top. The white enamel dial, with Arabic numerals, is set within a delicately worked bronze frame. The lower section reveals a pendulum adorned with a putto, adding animation and presence to the whole. The molded base, resting on small scrolled feet, is also decorated with a bas-relief frieze depicting several putti in a bucolic scene. The piece reflects a typically Romantic taste of the 19th century, blending the spirit of Napoleon III with Neo-Rococo inspiration.
