"hopkins - London" Percussion Pistol - 1830-1840 - 19th Century

A percussion pistol, "HOPKINS in LONDON," dating from 1830-1840, 19th century. All metal parts are steel with a bright polished finish. The 10mm caliber round barrel is rifled and has a flat top marked "London" with a small brass rear sight. The breech tang, rear lock plate, hammer, and furniture are chased with scrollwork. The lock plate is signed "HOPKINS." A nail-headed ramrod is fixed under the barrel with two articulated flat brackets. Steel furniture. All screw heads are chased. The long, finely checkered walnut stock has a nickel silver thumb stud. The mechanism is in perfect working order with two cocking positions. The bore has good rifling. Length: 18 cm.
