He received an honorable mention there in 1890. Our painting is a portrait of a model, “Regina,” a young Italian woman wearing beautiful jewelry. Perhaps intended for a larger composition. The modeling of this young woman is exquisite, enhanced by the contrast between the magnificent golden yellow of the background and the light color of her flesh tones.
