Large Silver Bowl, East India, 19th Century
The decoration consists of a group of Hindu deities dancing among stylized trees of various species.
They are dressed in loincloths, their chests bare, and wear jewelry and headdresses, the draped veils placed over their shoulders follow the movement of their dance.
Other deities, depicted seated or crouching in different poses, are shown in cartouches adorning the upper part of the bowl.
A very beautiful and large piece.
