Pair of large Art Deco vases. And yet so modern…
Made between 1914 and 1928 by the François-Théodore Legras glassworks (1839-1916) in Saint-Denis.
Frosted glass, acid-etched and then enameled.
Signatures also acid-etched in cameo.
Two contrasting tones of enamel. A very bright and rare orange, a rare color for Legras, highlighted and enhanced by the black (some minor imperfections in the enamel).
Stylized floral and branch motif, typically Art Deco.
Note: a tiny, non-penetrating hairline crack, about one centimeter long, on the neck of one of the vases. Visible in the last macro photograph.
