Infantry saber known as a "Briquet," Model 1776, from the Revolution to the Empire. One-piece bronze hilt, typical of this model. Single-branch guard. Fluted grip with 19 strands. Curved blade with fullers and grooves, 64.5 cm long. Black varnished leather scabbard with two brass mounts and a button chape for belt attachment. Overall length 80.5 cm. Good condition. France. Late 18th century.
