20th Century French Louis XVI Style Half-moon Commode

A half-moon dresser, early 20th-century France. A Louis XVI-style furniture finely inlaid with walnut, mahogany, maple, ebonized wood, and fruitwood, with gilded and chiseled bronze and brass decorations. The commode features two spacious front drawers and an original marble top of great quality and beauty.

The dresser rests on four sturdy legs, the front ones adorned with bronze feet (see photo). A beautifully proportioned bedroom or living room furniture, suitable for antique dealers and interior decorators. Complete with a working key for both drawers. One of the two lock escutcheons was replaced during the restoration. This commode has a beautiful patina and is in good condition.
