A beautiful object from the 1830s-40s, a small folding lectern with a remarkable quality leather binding, gilt-tooled.
A central glass window reveals a fine petit point embroidery: a rabbit in a basket under a cherry tree.
This lectern opens with a leather hinge, tilting at three angles. A leather strip allows a book to rest on it, and a brass strip holds pages open.
In good condition, with some wear ( object is nearly two centuries old).
Leather hinge is fragile but still functional.
