Touching Miniature On Copper, 17th Century, Crown Of Flowers For Suffering Christ

Artist: Art Religieux
Beautiful rectangular miniature, 8cm x 6.5cm, painted on copper in polychromy.
A painting within a painting: the touching portrait of Christ crowned with thorns is set in an oval bordered by flowers, each more beautiful than last.
This technique was sometimes carried out in partnership between a flower painter and a figure painter. Among the best known: Daniel Seghers and Cornelis I Schut, 1st half of the 17th century in Antwerp.
I believe that the transposition into miniature of such larger paintings is rare, probably a special order...
Painting, entirely original, without repairs, has gaps on 3-5% of its surface, look carefully at photos.
Little ancient framing on textile.
