An early twentieth-century German porcelain centrepiece attributed to the Plaue workshop of C. G. Schierholz & Sohn. The open reticulated basket is carried by two cherubs and wrapped with a garland of applied roses in pink, yellow and violet tones.
The modelling is soft and decorative, typical of Plaue’s sculptural language, and the flower garland reflects the factory’s renowned hand-formed petal work.
A strong decorative piece suited to a console, mantel or curated interior vignette.
