A large early twentieth-century centrepiece by the Porzellanmanufaktur Plaue (von Schierholz), made around 1907. The trunk-form support carries applied roses and foliage in the characteristic Plaue manner, and two putti are positioned within the composition. The openwork bowl above is enriched with gilt accents and a Dresden-style floral spray. This model reflects the Dresden/Rococo Revival taste for ornate display pieces produced by the factory during its mature phase.
