"17th-century Tabernacle Door "
A tabernacle door carved from oak, featuring a monstrance represented by a gilded disc in the shape of a radiant sun. The monstrance developed in this form in the 17th century, evoking the "glory" that signified the presence of God in the desert during the time of Moses. France, Louis XIV period.
