"Empire Period Mahogany Armchair, Dauphin Model"
Empire period armchair in mahogany and mahogany veneer, with a straight back, dolphin head and palmette armrests, lion's paw front legs and saber rear legs. Parisian manufacture from the late Empire period, around 1810. A beautiful model with elegant proportions and fine, vibrant carving. It is upholstered in a beautiful red lined velvet from Maison Lelèvre. This velvet is suitable for everyday use as an office chair, as it is more durable than silk. Note: we are selling a matching bergère armchair to create a bedroom suite. Good overall condition; the French polish has been cleaned and refreshed by our cabinetmaker.
