"Lunéville - Pair Of Large Champagne Buckets Or Giant Earthenware Planters - 19th Century"
Pair of large planters or Champagne buckets in Lunéville earthenware with the classic floral decoration with a red combed edge. Inspired by the decors of Strasbourg, it is also called "Street lamp service". This decor was so successful in the 19th century, present in all the castles and good houses of Lorraine and the Grand Est of France, that it became emblematic of the Lunéville Manufacture to the point of being essentially known as "the decor Lunéville. Production from the end of the 19th century, entirely hand painted (no decals like contemporary productions). Our pieces are the giant model of the Lunéville pot cover or bottle bucket: 27cm in height when the classic model is 16cm in height. Their very large format lends itself well to being used as a large planter, a bowl for serving punch or even a bucket for champagne bottles. Beautiful collector's items, rare in this format.
