Description:

Serge Belloni, known as "The Painter of Paris," devoted his artistic life to capturing the timeless essence of Paris and Venice. Rain or shine, he immortalized the ever-changing faces of the City of Light and the City of the Doges.

This exquisite small painting transports us to Paris, depicting the striking scene of the Seine flood from Pont-Neuf in 1979. Belloni cherished spending autumn and early winter in Paris, where the bare trees revealed the city’s true architecture and soul. For the rest of the year, he immersed himself in Venice, seeking to capture its unique light.

Biography:

Born in Italy in 1925, Serge Belloni settled in Paris in 1933. He studied at the École supérieure des Beaux-Arts and held his first exhibition at the age of 21. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to painting, working every day, in all weather, to capture the essence of Paris.


His travels to Holland allowed him to master the techniques of the Flemish masters, which he perfected throughout his career. His works are present in prestigious collections around the world, from Paris to New York, via Milan and Moscow.
