Biography:
André Émile Planson, a French painter born on April 1, 1898, in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, and deceased on September 29, 1981, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, initially trained under local painter Paul Mesle before refining his skills at the Académie Ranson in Paris (1917–1919). A leading figure of the Peintres de la Réalité Poétique group, he associated with Roland Oudot, Maurice Brianchon, Christine Caillard, Roger Limouse, and Raymond Legueult. Elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1960, his work is primarily preserved at the Musée André Planson in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre. Pierre Mac Orlan dedicated an essay to him, highlighting the depth and uniqueness of his art.
