Large pair of solid wood baking molds, 36cm x 16cm each, weighing 1.6kg, made from beautiful fruitwood with no wormholes.
Molds were likely engraved for a wedding; costumes depicted are from the transitional period between Louis XV and Louis XVI, circa 1780. Each, bride and groom is shown full-length on one side, suitable for a large sugar or nougatine arrangement, while the other side is for molding pretty almond cakes, in the Alsatian or German tradition.
Good condition, minimal wear, a few minor marks.
