Whelk With Dolphin's Head, Empire Period, Early 19th Century
A rare copper whelk consisting of a circular tube with a single coil, terminating in a dolphin's head with its mouth open. Traces of old polychromy in gold and red remain. It ends in a stylized tail. The mouthpiece is missing. This object shows signs of old restorations, old soldering, and dents. A rare piece from the Empire period, early 19th century.
