Rare suite of 6 mahogany and mahogany veneer chairs useful in a music room. German work in the style of the "lyraflugel" lyre pianos of Schleip active in Berlin around 1815. Front feet claw, rear feet in saber. Leather seat (wear), original straps. The lyre was the symbol of freedom during the Napoleonic occupation in Prussia and Austria, an active period for Beethoven or Schiller during the birth of the Biedermeier style.
