The case is shaped like a quiver, surmounted by a small griffin sculpture.
The griffin is only 1.5 cm high, a true work of miniature sculpture.
The mother-of-pearl is very white and lustrous, of exceptional quality.
The opening is adorned with a gilt metal palmette frieze.
The body of the case is inlaid with a silver disc intended to hold the owner's monogram.
A superb case, typical of the mother-of-pearl production sold in the shops of the Palais Royal during the reign of Charles X. Such quiver-shaped models, topped with genuine sculptures, are rare and highly desirable.
