"le Besset, Allevard" Etienne Albrieux
Artist: Etienne Albrieux
Etienne Albrieux was born in Annecy in 1891 and died in 1962. After studying under Tony Tollet at the Lyon School of Fine Arts, he went on to the Paris School of Fine Arts. Mobilized during the First World War, upon his return, he settled in Saint-Pierre d'Allevard, where he married. Enamored with the Belledonne and Écrins mountain ranges, he painted the area around Allevard (Le Besset, Les Panissières, Pinsot) using a palette knife. This work, located on the back, is dated December 1943. With its white frame, the painting measures 51.5 cm x 81.5 cm.
