Large Provençal Mirror In Carved And Gilded Wood, Louis XV Period, 18th Century
Large Provençal mirror with carved and gilded linden wood frames, Louis XV period, 18th century. The pediment is richly carved with foliate scrolls and flowering branches, adorned with a bouquet of flowers in the center. The undulating side rails feature finely carved frames of openwork climbing roses. It terminates in two small, cabriole feet delicately carved with foliage. The original gold leaf gilding is in good condition (some old repairs). The mirror is a two-part mercury mirror with a period backing.
