Infantry Officer's Uniform, 1845, Second Empire
Complete uniform of a battalion commander or lieutenant colonel from the 15th Line Infantry Regiment (1845-1852).
It comprises:
- a pair of two-tone gold and silver epaulettes with large bullion finials and original buttons from the 15th Regiment.
- an 1845 officer's belt buckle in exceptional gilt condition with its original green leather lining.
- an officer's shako buckle from the 15th Regiment, also in exceptional gilt condition.
- a Louis Philippe era line officer's gorget, with its gilt and white leather lining on the back; one of its buttons is also present.
This lot comes directly from a family.
Purchased at the sale of a château, it is perfectly intact and in very good condition.
