A very fine wakizashi with its original Shinto blade, "Heianjo Ju Masakuni" (平安城政国), featuring a magnificent koshirae and shirasaya, along with a Sayagaki.

This complete wakizashi, in excellent condition and of high quality, with its authentic Shinto blade over 400 years old, signed and dated, along with its certificate from the Kurashiki Sword Museum and its torokusho (sword guard), makes it an exceptional piece that will delight many a collector.

As indicated on the certificate: the artist's six-character signature and the full date of its creation on the reverse of the silk indicate a special order.

CERTIFICATES AND DOCUMENTS :

Certificate of authenticity issued by the Kurashiki Bijutsukan, Okayama, Kurashiki Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts, Okayama Prefecture (Southern Japan). As printed in black ink on the Shirasaya, the blade was made by Heianjo-Ju Masakuni, 1st Generation. Beyond the specific characteristics of the blade and the craftsman who created it, the diagram provided by this quality certification reveals a balance between the shape, the tempering pattern, the storage conditions, the presence of a signature with a date, and the blade's forging. These factors lead to an overall assessment of excellent quality, according to the opinion of the two experts and Expert Report No. 1803008, dated March 1, 2018.

• Mokko-gata type tsuba - Materials: Solid copper - Edge type: Kaku-mimi - Finish type: Blackish nigurome and Mikaki-ji (polished surface). It is equipped with an "Itsu-ume" stopper.
• The Saya is fluted, lacquered black with a small decorative element on the Kojiri.
• Fuchi/Kashira: With a motif of golden chrysanthemum flowers
• Menuki: With a motif of golden flowers
• Kozuka/Kogatana: Antique signed blade; the Kozuka (handle) is antique and matches the Fuchi/Kashira.
