Rare polychrome glazed ceramic bas-relief "The Blue Mime" by Roland Brice, inspired by the work of Fernand Léger, whose friend and ceramist Roland Brice was, 1959.
Very good condition
Dimensions 52 x 32 cm, weight 9.4 kg.
Roland Brice (1911-1989), sculptor and ceramist, a former student of Fernand Léger, became his official ceramist in 1949. In his Biot workshop, he worked on his own creations, which bear the imprint of the painter – primary colors, black lines, figures with rounded curves… Brice also focused on free forms and combined utility and beauty in his vases, dishes, and plates. He was a fervent advocate of art in the city and of polychromy, a vital dimension for humankind.
