A very fine French school painting from the late 19th century, depicting a lively lakeside landscape. In the foreground, a peaceful river flows through the land; to the right, a female figure walks along a path. This oil on canvas was executed in very soft tones. It is sold in a gilt-colored frame adorned with stucco moldings representing scrolling foliage. It is unsigned. Note two small losses in the lower left corner of the frame (see photo).
