Marble Wall Fountain With Satyr, 19th Century
A trapezoidal marble wall fountain with a rectangular basin decorated with gadroons and foliate ornamentation. The basin rests on a pedestal adorned with a satyr's protome, his hair entwined with vine leaves, flanked by lion masks with protruding tongues. The stepped base is decorated with acanthus leaves. Above the basin stands an antique-style reproduction of a drunken satyr holding a wine gourd: a fully sculpted, richly detailed figure with a tree stump and additional vine leaf decoration.
