Set of ten Directoire-style straw-seated chairs in light cherry wood, early 19th century. Attractive patina. Each chair is decorated on the back with a hand-painted metal plaque depicting Roman deities: Jupiter, Minerva, Flora, Vulcan, Ceres, Pluto, Juno, Aesculapius, Diana, and Mars. Minor restorations to the wood consistent with age. Original, very fine straw in usable condition. Good overall condition. Height 87 cm, Width 41 cm, Seat height 46 cm, Seat depth 37.5 cm
