"Box, Case, Or Ring Box For An Engagement Ring, Depicting A Romantic Scene, Enamel And Silver-plated Metal"
Like a small box, this oval silver-plated metal case is adorned with a signed enamel depicting a couple in formal attire in a landscape. The young man, kneeling beside the seated woman, appears to be asking for her hand in marriage. Friezes of heart-shaped motifs and laurel leaves, and a series of arches, each framing a flower, complete the design.
The deep lid is large enough to hold a substantial ring, and the interior is lined with silk and beige velvet.
Very good condition.
