Pair Of Louis XVI Candlesticks With Chinese Figures
Pair of Louis XVI period candlesticks. Last quarter of the 18th century. The bases are made of white Carrara marble, adorned with chains and resting on chased and gilt bronze plinths. They are surmounted by Chinese figures in bronze with a black patina. The clothing motifs are finely chased. These sculptures support gilt bronze torchères decorated with leaves and flowers, terminating in candle holders and bobeches chased with rows of pearls.
