Set Of Porcelain Plates From The Schoelcher Factory, Early 19th Century
Artist: Manufacture De Porcelaine Schoelcher
An exceptional set of 13 plates from the Schoelcher porcelain factory (1798-1834). On the characteristic white, luminous yet creamy background typical of Schoelcher porcelain, the decoration features gold and fuchsia pink. Along the rim, between two wide gold bands, is a charming frieze of grape bunches and vines. A gold medallion adorns the center. The delicacy and elegance of the decoration, characteristic of this renowned factory, are evident. All 13 plates are in very good condition and are signed on the back "SCHOELCHER Paris." The factory was the successor to the one in the Faubourg Saint-Denis, formerly belonging to the Count of Artois and established under the Ancien Régime. It later came under the patronage of the Duchess of Berry.
