A pair of vases depicting birds and flowers, a classic Japanese kachō-ga composition.
The bodies of the vases are made of bronze, and the decorations are achieved through engraving, chiseled appliqués in various copper alloys, shakudō (a copper and gold alloy), shibuichi (a copper and silver alloy), as well as gilding and painting.
