"Pair Of Regency Candlesticks With Two-light Candelabra, Silver-plated Metal, 18th Century"
A pair of charming Regency candlesticks with removable two-light candelabra. A classic design crafted from silver-plated metal; the octagonal base is shaped to support a stem and a tall socket, both with chamfered edges. The candelabra feature two curved arms ending in a wide, molded cup and a ringed circular socket; the small central baluster-shaped finial in the center of each candelabra shows a slight variation in its turning. Beautifully crafted in keeping with the period: cast iron shells for the shafts and all the sockets, hand-turned screw threads at the base of the shafts for assembly. A small, very old, and almost invisible repair to one of the candelabra arms (see last photo). A beautiful classic model, easy to match with other similar examples from the same period to create a set. French work from the 18th century. Note: Shipping available to France via Colissimo tracked service: 30 euros. Other destinations upon request.
