"Camera Lucida By Moreau, Circa 1870"
A fine example of a camera lucida bearing the signature "Moreau Opticien / 16 rue de Seine," indicating that it was made by the Parisian optical firm Moreau, founded in 1830 and active until the 1890s-1900s. The instrument is in good condition, complete with its prism and two solar filters. It is housed in its original case measuring 26 x 6.4 cm. The hinge of the carrying case is partially broken. Otherwise, it is in perfect working order.
