"Set Of Drawing Instruments, 18th Century"
Large, unsigned German technical drawing instrument set, dating from the second half of the 18th century. This large set includes: - A beam compass with two dry points, one of which can be replaced with an ink point or a pencil point; - A large point compass, one of whose points can be replaced with an ink point or a point of undetermined use, with two parts that fit inside each other; - A brass ruler; - And a small brass screwdriver for adjusting the dry-point compass. The case for this beautiful set, perfectly preserved and complete, is of later manufacture and bears the name of a late 19th-century owner, the Berlin artist Max Wullf (1871-1947). The beam compass is 40 cm long and the large dry-point compass is 20.5 cm long. Dimensions of the closed case: 44 x 11 x 4.5 cm. Beautiful box, uncommon.
