Epinal Plate With A Rooster - Early 19th Century
Epinal plate - Early 19th century. A high-fired plate with a decoration characteristic of Epinal plates. Decorated with a rooster at a fence resting on a grassy mound. The rim is decorated with three bouquets. Good condition. Note two small chips on the serrated edge, repaired (see last two photos). Earthenware plate. Diameter 22.8 cm. I have at least a hundred Epinal plates from this period in my collection (roosters, birds, flowers, houses, etc.). Please feel free to contact me for any information.
