"Early 19th Century Directory Style Table By Jacopo Ciacchi"
Elegant and unique writing table entirely veneered in cherry wood with rosewood trim. The rectangular table features truncated pyramid legs, typical of the period, and is embellished at the corners with finely chased gilded bronze decorations reminiscent of quivers adorned with garlands of flowers. Further decoration is provided by the trim, visible at the beginning of the legs and on the geometric square top, lending a sober elegance to the design. Finally, the piece features a small drawer on the front, bearing the label of the cabinetmaker, Jacopo Ciacchi, a famous Florentine cabinetmaker active between the early and second half of the 19th century, whose workshop was located in Borgo San Jacopo, near the Ponte Vecchio. Ciacchi's business was also rich and prosperous, and he is credited with creating the furniture for the Hall of Columns in the Pitti Palace. This splendid table is a unique piece of furniture of great value, capable of furnishing any space with taste and refinement. Florentine manufacture (Florence, Italy), neoclassical period, early 19th century.
