Green Glazed Earthenware Wall Fountain, Provence, Late 18th Century, 18th Century Folk Art
Green glazed earthenware fountain body with two handles molded into leafy scrolls and a relief decoration of palmettes, pearl friezes, decoration applied to the face of a quatrefoil motif flanked by fleurs-de-lis and a lion's head. Provençal work, perhaps from the Apt region, late 18th century. Height 26.5 cm - width 38 cm - depth 20 cm. Old restoration on the mascaron, drilling at the back, slight cracks from use and losses affecting the side handles, chip at the base on the right side.
