Hallmark of Alphonse PERRAULT: sun / clouds / A.P / A.P. Active from 1847 to 1883
Stamp from the World’s Fair.
Height: 18.4 cm.
PARIS, 19th century

In perfect condition and complete with both lids.
A utensil used for cooking food in a double boiler; the notches at the base allowed air to escape during cooking, thus preventing the pot from tipping over.
This object is often incorrectly referred to as a “dinner pot”.
