"Regency - Louis XV Center Table In Waxed Oak, Rocaille And Quatrefoil, Mid-18th Century"
Very elegant Regency - Louis XV style center table in solid oak with a waxed patina. Our table rests on four legs, each with a graceful curve called "crow's foot" and hemmed along its entire length with a delicate molding ending in a sculpted hoof. The upper part of each leg is decorated with a sculpted falling motif. Very elegant Regency - Louis XV style center table in solid oak with a waxed patina. The belt is decorated on its four sides, in the middle of each, with a beautiful rocaille decoration and elegant acanthus scrolls framed by cartouches containing grid and quatrefoil work, typical motifs of the first half of the 18th century and very present in the Paris region. The whole is topped with a top decorated with a molding around its entire perimeter. This top must have been made in the 19th century to replace a marble top. Some small reinforcements were added below this top in the middle of the 20th century (see photos). We also note that the tips of the feet were grafted on for about ten centimeters, a very well done job and barely visible (see photo).
