Games Table, Tric Trac, Louis XVI Desk Stamped M. Ohneberg In Mahogany
Artist: Martin Ohneberg Maître En 1773
Elegant Louis XVI period mahogany and mahogany veneer tric-trac game table forming a desk, stamped on one of the uprights M. Ohneberg for Martin Ohneberg, who was received as a master in Paris in 1773. His production is characterized by sleek lines in the Transition style, but especially Louis XVI, with high quality execution in the service of classicism. The removable top of this table is darkened with green leather with a gold vignette on one side and on the other with a green game mat, revealing a tric-trac game veneered with ebony. It opens in the belt with a small drawer and a false drawer on each long side. It rests on four tapered fluted legs finished with bronze shoes on casters.
