Based on a cartoon by painter Jean-Claude Bissery
Jean Laurent Workshop, Aubusson. Absence of Bolduc
This tapestry titled “Escape” is a work created from an original cartoon by the painter and cartoonist Jean-Claude Bissery, who was also a professor at the National School of Decorative Arts in Aubusson in the 1960s and 1970s.
The work features a weave typical of Aubusson craftsmanship, with bright, contrasting colors, blending organic and abstract forms in a dynamic composition.
Size : 160 x 110 cm
Condition : Good overall condition.
Note : Six large screws were used in the corners for hanging, causing holes. These have been filled with matching wool to preserve the tapestry's visual integrity.
