"19th Century Persia. Kadjar Period Hand Mirror"
The refinement of Persian decorative arts was still at its peak during the Qajar period. Elements of everyday life are embellished with graceful geometric patterns, which here are reminiscent of magnificent silk carpets. This case intended to contain a mirror is painted and lacquered in warm colors and decorated with golden scrolls. A small restoration on one panel ( on the panel inside ) will allow it to regain its splendor.
