Small walnut chest, solidly built and richly adorned with wrought-iron fittings, including long lance-shaped straps and decorative studs, many of them pierced or engraved with cross motifs.These features suggest an original clerical or monastic use, possibly as a sacristy chest or ecclesiastical storage coffer.

Condition and restorations:The main structure is original, retaining its antique patina and surface wear.Some parts were replaced over time: one board of the bottom and, most likely, the lid, renewed in the 19th century; the hinges are modern.The feet show old reworkings, probably from the 19th century, consistent with the overall character.Minor splits and oxidation of the iron consistent with age. Overall condition good and stable.
Remarks:An evocative and genuine example of rustic Renaissance furniture from northern Italy. The historical 19th-century restorations preserve the authenticity and documentary value of the piece.
