Alsatian Strasbourg wardrobe with two doors and two drawers, architectural facade punctuated by seven ringed columns, in the center of the doors a cushion with bastioned contours bordered by wavy moldings, sculpted decoration called "countryside" characteristic of the last quarter of the 17th century, with composed bouquets and draperies, central cartouche with laurel wreath with the number 1700, anniversary date of the change of century, The facade decorated with angel heads, is inlaid with geometric patterns simulating the marble facings covered the buildings of ancient Rome. The adaptation of this principle to furniture was initiated in Italy as early as the 16th century and the heads of the Strasbourg cabinetmaker guild adopted this principle to integrate it into their masterpieces, from the development of the Renaissance in Alsace, to keep the design until 1715.
