Pair Of Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Dishes With Floral Decoration, Meiji Period, 19th Century

A fine matching pair of large Japanese cloisonné enamel dishes, dating to the Meiji period (late 19th century).
Each dish finely worked in vibrant enamels with flowering prunus and chrysanthemum branches on a deep cobalt-blue ground, enclosed by a wide scalloped rim of scrolling lotus and foliate motifs in red, turquoise, green, and black enamels.
The reverse is decorated with an overall fish-scale pattern in turquoise enamel, typical of high-quality Meiji shippo work.
