" Pair Of Large Daum Vases With Mimosas, Belle Etoile Glassware, Perfect, Galle Era Art Deco 1920"
Pretty pair of large vases decorated with mimosa branches by the Belle étoile glassworks, run by Paul Daum near Lunéville. Rare model decorated with drooping enameled mimosa branches on an orange cloudy background. Nice contrast with these small yellow balls and finely enameled foliage. Typical of the Art Deco period. Signed "Lorrain", perfect, 32 cm, circa 1925. For the record, this signature is indeed a Daum signature. Paul Daum, to diversify production, took over the Belle étoile glassworks (near Lunéville and Nancy) to develop a series of more accessible pieces but still with the quality of the parent company. Pierre d'Avesn also worked there. We thus find the Lorrain, Mado, Moda, Lysies signatures coming from this glassworks. Beautiful art deco vases, excellent value for money. Note that these vases are offered as a pair, it would be a shame to separate them, but I am open to purchasing them individually. To be agreed.
