Rare "la Farandole" Vase By Ada Loumani, Engraved And Iridescent, Era Novaro, Daum, Mallemouche, Biot

A rare and interesting "La Farandole" vase by Ada Loumani.

While pieces by this great master glassmaker from Valbonne are fairly easy to find, it is rare to come across one that features both acid etching and iridescence. This is, in fact, a one-of-a-kind piece, beautifully decorated with women dancing the farandole in a circle on both sides of the vase.
Note that the vase was not completely immersed in an acid bath, as the shoulders and base of the piece have retained their luster and iridescence. The acid was therefore applied with a stamp around the design, exposing the glass and matting the background.
Beautiful bluish and pink hues with a lovely multicolored iridescence. Attractive flared shape.

In perfect condition, very thick glass, signed and dated on the base (Loumani 1991), 26 cm tall, 23 cm in diameter, and weighing over 2.4 kilos!

A superb, unique modern piece that confirms the talent of this glassmaker, a leader alongside Novaro and Mallemouche.
