This type is the very quintessence of the age-old cut and thrust fighting sword.
These swords are super rare when they are in a fine state of preservation. Most swords are recovered from the earth and rivers and are simple skeletons. This particular sword has all original parts.
The hilt has the original grip, the leather was well persevered over its long life.
The guard is fitted with a set of short curved quillons.
The sword blade and pommel are perfectly fitted. A large rounded pommel fits perfectly on the sword making it a very effective counter balance making it superbly balanced and maneuverable.
The blade is a double edge design with diamond ground cross section, the overall condition of the blade is excellent. The blade is marked with a gold or copper cross inlaid on one side and the passau wolf inlaid on the other side.
Truly a rarely seen sword of Museum quality!
