Octagonal barometer in carved and gilded wood according to Torricelli (1608-1647), from the First Empire period (1805-1815), 19th century.
The center of the barometer used to indicate the variations in time by the hands stands out against a white background which is set against a blue background.
Decorated with an octagonal gilded wooden frame surmounted by a gilded wooden pediment carved with an imperial eagle on a globe surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves and two flags.
Signed "Par Sourdat", "according to Toricelly".
